Finding quality candidates shouldn’t depend on guessing the exact words they used to describe their experience. New AI-powered search capabilities in 12twenty Hiring Cloud give recruiters a more natural way to search for talent and discover relevant candidates who might not surface through traditional keyword searches.
Recruiters shouldn’t have to think like a search engine to find the best candidates. For years, recruiters have translated what they’re looking for into keywords and Boolean searches, accounting for the different ways candidates might describe similar experience.
Now, you can start by simply describing the candidate you have in mind, just as you would to a colleague:
12twenty interprets that description and ranks candidates based on how closely their profiles align with the search. Recruiters can spend less time building, testing, and revising keyword combinations and more time reviewing relevant talent.
Job applicants don’t always use the same language to describe similar experiences. Job titles vary, candidates describe skills and responsibilities differently, and some may not have uploaded a résumé at all. That can make exact keyword searches limiting.
Rather than relying only on résumé keywords, our new search analyzes an applicant’s broader profile, including education, work experience, location, graduation timing, and career preferences. This surfaces applicants with relevant backgrounds and interests even when they haven’t used the exact terminology a recruiter would have thought to search for.
For recruiting teams, that means a broader view of the talent available to them without having to anticipate every possible way applicants might describe their experience.
Combine natural-language search with the precision you need
Not every part of a candidate search should be left to interpretation. Recruiters can still use exact keyword matching and filters for requirements such as degree type, school, graduation year, or location, while using natural language to describe the experience or background they’re looking for.
Existing school-access permissions and candidate-unlock rules in Global Candidate Search also remain unchanged. Recruiting teams get more flexibility in how they discover talent without changing the access controls or talent networks they already rely on.
The result is a more intuitive way to search: recruiters can describe who they’re looking for, apply the criteria that matter, and uncover relevant candidates even when their profiles don’t contain the keywords they would normally search.
Yes. Keyword search is still available. Natural-language search gives recruiters another way to find relevant candidates when exact keywords may be limit the results.
